Hi.
I was lucky to purchase a used Intact bottom of the range AVC, the one with less steps. Perfect way into the AVC world, at least for me
What's a good, solid state buffer to follow the AVC? Maybe a proven solution that degrades the sound the least amount? Tubes is an option but with my lack of skills I was thinking to start with ss.
Appreciate any advice. Excited to start soldering the AVC
best regards,
Herman

a buffer is the last thing I would follow the AVC with. The absolute worst case situation happens at full volume where the output Z of the autoformer is that of the source driving it. As you attenuate the output Z gets lower and at -12dB the output Z is 1/16th that of the source.
my advice it so build it and listen to it "naked" and then if you get the itch try a buffer after it. If a buffer must be used I would put it before the autoformer to deal with the chance of a overly high output impedance source.
