Balanced project

Post by DR »

Hi all - great site concept. I listened to a TVC for a few weeks and was sold! At times it was magic - must have matched well with my stuff. I have a fully differential DAC (80 ohms out on the XLRs) and fully differential power amplification (47Kohm) so would like a balanced AVC.

As a couch potato (according to the Trouble-and-Strife) I'd like basic remote control - volume, mute and, to a far lesser extent, input switching. I've looked with lust at John Chapman's offerings and am saving! I've looked at the Dantimax option and that's doable I think. Just came across the 8thnote.eu site. I quite like that form factor and Sunday DIY'er approach and have asked whether his Stepped Attenuator II could accommodate 28 taps from Dave's AVCs. Don't see why not but I will await Lazslo's response.

Ideally, I'd like a pair of the balanced-on-one-bobbin 28-step AVCs and I'd like to know the pros and cons of having a fully balanced AVC on one core.

Anything else I need to be aware of?
