LCR RIAA

Thinking about getting a set of inductors from Dave to do the magic LCR RIAA trick. I have been reading about this for years and I think it is time to pull the trigger.
My biggest question is many have stated they liked the low 600 approach better in the sound department. And of course if you go with the high approach you can get rid of step downs/cathode/mu etc methods.
To me sound is all that matters. Anybody out there heard or compared a low vs high inductance lcr riaa units?
