Hi Dave
I guess my email to you got lost in a pile so since there is nothing confidential in it I thought I'll post it here.
I acquired a pair of Electra-Print small open frame nickel /silver 1:2 low level input transformers . The label says small signal 1:2 step up 50 Ohm/1250 Ohm , 15db
All of which is little confusing as the ratio 50/1250 would suggest 1:5 .To add to confusion measured DCR is ~48ohm/103 Ohm.
I contacted Jack Eliano but since transformers were custom made 10 years ago , he doesn't have much info. The chap I bought them from commisioned them for his Cary 300b monos as an input transformer. I wonder if it's worth a shot to rewind them to be more like MC step up transformer ? My cart has 0.3mV and 18 Ohm. If I could get 1.5mV I could built custom phono preamp around them. Let me know what you think.
Warm regards, L
