Hi,

Does anyone have or know of any models for the above valves?

Since writing the above, I went and used CurveCaptor to get a LTSPICE model. All seemed to work OK and got a bunch of results.

However I can't quite see how I translate the results into the triode_nh.txt file. I can see models in the triode_nh.txt file that look similar but they don't have inter electrode capacitances. How do they get inserted into the file?

thanks,

Stephen

Hey Stephen,
Suppose you add them manually by taking the figures from the datasheets.

Yes I suppose I could if I knew the syntax. The models in the triode file that look like the definition I have created from curvecaptor don't have inter electrode capacitance figures either.

So this makes me wonder how good these models are too.

Hi Stephen,
Could one have a look at one of the modesl you did?

CurveCaptor outputs a bunch of LTSPICE stuff that I think represents the plate curves for the valve. The attached text file is a number of Koren models from the most accurate to the least.

I see in the triode file for the 6H30 a similar syntax that looks nothing like the others. I haven't tried to understand any of the syntax yet as I thought that could be something beyond that which I have time for at present. Maybe one day.

Anyway. models with the same syntax don't have inter-electrode capacitance either. That would seem to indicate the sim won't model Miller at all which makes me wonder how useful the sim will be with some valves.

Attached is the triode_nh.txt file with the 6AM4 added.

I couldn't attach the CurveCaptor data so the link should have it from my site

Should it be more difficult than this?

.subckt 6am4 P G K
Bp P K I=(0.01033900924m)*uramp(V(P,K)*ln(1.0+(-0.007076797646)+exp((1.906422463)+(1.906422463)*((116.802414)+(-1169.550306m)*V(G,K))*V(G,K)/sqrt((17.88295266)**2+(V(P,K)-(-11.80479238))**2)))/(1.906422463))**(1.420116524)
Cgk G K x.xP
Cgp G P x.xP
Cpk P K x.xP
.ends 6am4

I wouldn't have thought so but in practice it would seem it is. Maybe I've looked at it for too long and not seeing an obvious mistake. I'm going to go pull a tree out of the ground and come back to it later.
