The goal was to see how a nickel plate choke that could be wired as a transformer would fare against a 250 hy choke in a phono stage. The tube was a 5687 and the nickel choke had approx 120hy's of L as sent and the guys opened the gap up by ear and ended up with around 25hy. the following stage is an AVC with ~125hy's of inductance so we have all of the makings of CL coupling (parafeed)

below are the simmed results showing the freuency response of the various hookups. I could easily see the hump being an octave off in either direction.

this is essentially an extension of this topic.
