shuntregulated psu

Post by vegardw »

I am working on a 50se.
amplifier is 112a -choke-46-it-50
The 112a and 46 are Connected as a drd amplifier
Irons ( very nice btw ) chokes IT's and opt's are made by Dave S.

Picture of one channel attached.

The psu in the picture was made for another amplifier last year. To get the 5o se up running I Connected the psu as shown in the schematic.
( I am planning to check the Sonics of the no r no c supply for the 50 se during spring.)

However: I was checking around with the Scope and found something I do not understand...
The first Scope picture is from the psu cap before the reg feeding one khz sine wave to the amp. The second is also 1 khz sinewave, probed at shunt tubes anode. The Third is 100 hz sinewave probed at shunt tubes anode.
Probing the psu cap looks the same independent of signal frequenzy.

What does my findings mean ?

Fix ?
