1:1+1 SE to PP IT

Post by reVintage »

Hey Dave,

Guess the above isn´t your favourite  ?

Thought of using a 1+1:1+1 PP as 1:1+1 with the second primary as tertiary winding with same but opposite current as the "active" primary. This to keep inductance up by keeping the gap down.

Thinking of a 6C45 at 20mA/150V or E280F(7721) at 15mA/200V so 60-80H(?)would probably be needed.

Is this a totally wacko idea  ? Or just halfwacko...........

EDIT: 750V B+, 85mA/tube and 8k Raa will give us just below 30W in Class-A. The tubes will only dissipate 60W/each. Used my www.revintage.se/PPABAMP.xls to estimate.
