question about New Autoformer Modules

Post by nashbap »

Hi,
I have read the details about the db attenuation that each knob achieves but I would like to understand how the second knob achieves the -1.25, 0, +1.25.
Is the output from the first 12 step switch sent to the second three step switch at the +1.25db position and then attenuated by a small resistive Lpad to get the 0 and -1.25db attenuation, or is it done some other way?

Thanks.

BTW I have posted this under the Transformer heading since the Attenuators heading does not seem to allow me to open a new topic.

hi,

the 1.25 steps are made by selecting different taps on the primary.

So does this mean that the coarse switch is connected to the autoformer the usual way as in the wiring instructions with the in and ground and the various taps to the switch and the fine switch is in addition connected to one of three switchable taps on the transformer? Is there a wiring diagram to illustrate it?

I would like to do something similar with the $200AVC utilizing only one knob for both channels for the coarse adjustment and one for the fine. Is that possible?

Thanks for your help.
