Driver Stage Configuration

I am planning a 6B4G push-pull amp and would like to hear people's views on whether SE to PP or PP to PP is the better configuration for the driver stage. Does using an input transformer for phase splitting and keeping it PP all the way through have any advantage over using a SE to PP driver transformer? My limited experience says not, but I would like to hear what others think.
