Guido's board as CCS
Yo Dave, My understanding of Guido's board is that it behaves as a CCS at HF and voltage source at LF - that way the tube essentially gets constant voltage operation (which is the correct way to operate them filaments) as far as DC goes but the audio signal sees a nice high impedance. It may be that...

Allo Dave, What do you reckon could be cooked up using these cores? talk to jarek... he has some AMCC-800's :-) Aye, I know... not that I'm going for -1000s just as a pissing contest :-) Interestingly, the Metglas DC Reactor program alludes to the existence of even bigger cores, can't see them anyw...

Bass only SE OPT on AMCC1000...
Allo Dave, What do you reckon could be cooked up using these cores? I was thinking enormous airgap, a truckload of turns, a load of Lpri and, very importantly, to hell with the top end. Looking at the mag curves on metglas site, seems like they could give a holy-grail-esque performance with 6C33 (in...

Hi Lester, Near Ann Arbor? Not quite; I'm actually across the pond in Blighty... Thanks for the notes on the player; fear not, the clock will be next. I'm not sure if removing those resistors is a good thing, even if you could design a transformer that didn't present a killer load up top; in conjunc...

one more data point
allo folks, Well I just finished modding my XB940... I was worried I'd fried the board by being really gung-ho about handling/static so it's a bit rushed/proof of concept. What I did was to desolder the current pulse chips (the DILs). Then, underneath the board, there are 8 small value SMT resistors...
