75tl transformers

Hi Dave I am planning to build a 75tl amplifier . My plan is similar to some of the Colorado boys so I see not much point in retravelling their territory - seems like they went for low turns - high turns ratio. I need 150 Hz plus and about 50 ma 8 ohm load . What choices in cores for this ? ( any su...

gain stage and crossover all within attenuator

Hi Dave I have been playing with a spud amp (emmision labs av 20 )using a step up transformer to drive my horns - was looking for a passive crossover solution ( have some chokes you made for me some time ago in lc networks ) . I got to thinking there may be a way to setup your autoformer for gain ( ...

Update

Hey there I recieved the inductors about a week ago and have them installed presently at 4.2 h 0.1 uF cap and 3800 ohm load No experimenting with other taps or caps at this stage - one step at a time. Firstly definitely better than rc networks - tried against 1 st and 2nd order (2nd order rc sucks a...

Hey there

0.1
0.15
0.22
0.4
Is fine, can easily manage that and three of them are standard parts and the last is 4 .1 in parallel so easy to do

That sounds great

Looks cool

HI Dave I am happy with bessel - I have used Linkwitz more at speaker level but I would think this means nothing at line level >>>>>assuming bessel and the following cap values i get: C L R .1 4.2 3800 .15 2.75 2500 .22 1.65 1650 .33 1.21 1100 That looks like a great starting point nice spread I don...

I see your point but ......

I look at the five different suggestions and they all produce a model which works and looks similar. They are all stable within the range I need and produce a crossover about where I would like soooo... what will each one sound like - no idea . I have not heard a second order LC line level filter ma...

Hi Dave Looks REALLY cool just what I was looking for, reasonably isolated from really low impedence sources . Only one way to really find out how it goes - better wind me some chokes!! Let me know the cost of four and shipping to OZ and I will paypal you asap. Thanks again for all the train time Si...

HI Dave Thanks for the effort !! 2 way system lp and hp out None of my amps ever seem to make it into boxes ( I keep managing to make breadboards which after days of troubleshooting I get down to .15 mv hum or something similar then put them into boxes and have 8 mv of hum and hiss) so gain can be w...

Hey dave

Looking for a crossover around 250 give or take 20

My phono output impedence is 200 and the dac output around 50 - maybe I should build a dac out put with impedence of 200 - I would be stuck with current sources but it solves the impedence issue !!!

Thanks again

AVC with passive line level crossover

Hi All I have just recieved my AVC (thanks dave they are fantastic) but was looking to use them with passive line level crossovers - If i go second order lc networks and the avc passive it seems to me the crossover freq will be affected by the output impedence of the source . Is this correct ?? can ...
