Re: High Impedance cartridges and SUT's
Measurement of the cartridge including the tonearm-wiring shows 2,4 ohm and 2,3 ohm on respectively the left and right channel. My interconnect ads another 0,1 ohm. My multimeter test-probe leads show a resistance of 0,3 ohm which should be subtracted. All in all a step-up would see 2,2 ohm and 2,1...

RAT tube tester updates?
Hi Stephie, Any updates to your RAT tube tester? Specifically, I've seen various references around the web that include changes to the schematic (by yourself) that allow testing of tubes with higher filament current requirements. As an aside, I've acquired all the parts necessary to build the tester...

76 is indirectly heated I guess this highlights my inexperience. I appreciate the efforts you've put into your website, documenting the approach and changes you've made in developing your version of Gary's headphone amp. It's been quite a learning experience for me so far. I have 2 questions (for n...

I wouldn't look for too much gain from your tube since it is possible to overdrive the autoformers at low frequency. Ultimately i'd try to stick with a tube with a mu of 8 or less. I was hoping to use a DHT like a 76 or some other variety. I've read good things about this tube and would like to lea...

Modifications for use as a line stage preamp?
I am about to receive a pair of Autoformers I bought from Bent Audio that were used in John Chapman's prototype to test out the Autoformer modules. Though I plan to use the autoformers initially as a purely passive volume control, I'd like to investigate using them in combination with a single (&quo...

I am a recent registered (newbie) member. I, too, am contemplating the Raven design and would like to modify it for use with an AVC/TVC. Lynn Olson suggests using a S&B TX102 but I've also heard good things about your autoformers and would like to use them if possible. I have a number of balance...
