dave: have transformers still. ? on new ones
Dave, i still have your transformers. Really sorry. Could you send me your addr again so that I can send them? Also looking for a: 1:1 output transformer 8ohm to 8ohm. 100mH. 3-4A DC bias. Would it be possible just to get the specs for this and i wind it myself? probably bifilar. M6 core. Regular EI...

1:1 output transformer for SS amp. need help on.
Hey Dave! Said to send via forum here... so..looking for: at least a 100mH primary Inductance. 3A DC primary current. running off of 2 12v SLA batteries... so 24v. bifilar wound. what i am looking for is just a design.. what lams and how many turns and wire gauge and what air gap size. i will try wi...

transformer specifics
well... for the input tranny just a simple nickel 1:1 with 47K secondary termination.. output tranny a 1:1 tranny... probably 6 ohm impedance. also thinking about adding a current cancelation winding on primary.. so maybe nickel again.. what do you think? also bifilar. the 1:10 a bit more tricky.. i...

iron for oh no... a SS amp.... what a sin!
See attached my amp idea. problem is i do not know whether it is better to split the 1:10 step-up into 2 1:3 step-ups at input and after first stage. other problem is i do not know if resistor values are correct. its just an idea. any ideas or help? wondering if you could help design these 3 transfo...

its really above 50Khz or so
If you look at the FAQ section there is a link to a sweep of frequency response vs tap. As attenuation is decreased the HF peak grows larger and decreases in frequency. I am looking to make a simple filter to place across the secondary to limit this peak.... and have it so i can switch in and out if...

question about snubber filter on "secondary" of at
I am thinking of placing a filter network on the secondary of the attenuator to restrict the HF peaking. i was thinking of having a switch to either: no filter, filter A, and filter B. I am unsure what really affects the amount of HF peaking and the frequency of the peak. The output impedance of cd ...

question...
wondering about restacking laminations...
have a arcam cd player... SS and a 87K input impedance on amp,
running about -9 to -15db listening volume.
currently have standard but stacking.. but should I try something else??
how will my HF response be affected?

update...
still using the clip lead method of adjusting the taps... :) probably go with the elma switches and a metal enclosure... with wood sides and wood top plate. wood knobs etc... Stacked them for 40H by the way..12 by 12 laminates will the be a significant difference stacking them this way?? just wonder...

got them.. thanks!!!!
just got them and wow... nice surprise. still letting them run in. How long is avg break in time for these? they sound remarkably good right "out of the box". my gain structure is perfect. for loudest i want in my system they seem to work at -3db. clip leaded in at the moment. btw, any goo...

trouble with selector switch.
Hey dave, just got your transformers and the selector switch. Looks very nice. Problem is the selector switch has 2 shafts, one in the center of the other.. how do i connect a control knob to these? also, there doesn't seem to be a stop on these switches... they rotate all the way around. so unsure ...

attenuators on the way.. what to expect and questions
I have read with much interest the quality and improvement of sound using these when replacing a standard pre-amp / line amp. So i took the plunge and ordered a pair. I am thinking of placing them in a small wooden box... maybe dimensions of the golden ratio  to see if it helps with improving t...
